The Aftermath Part 2

The fight was really picking up. With two new members to our team, there was more armor that was needed. I went downstairs to the room with all the weapons that I had kept locked earlier. A stupid, careless mistake I made, was forgetting to lock it on the way out. Just moments after, Melanthius found his way there to arm the suitors, but unfortunately (for him), he got caught the second time and was tied up and locked in the closet.
Shortly after I returned, Athena appeared as a mentor, and watched the battle for a bit. I think she was testing my father's strength and fighting ability. My father killed a few suitors, then I killed a few suitors, and neither of us were getting wounds too significant. The battle quickly ended after Athena joined in. Only two of the suitors were saved, for they had not willingly been a suitor. One priest begged my father for his life, but my father didn't care. He killed him immediately. The battle was finally over, and now the three of us were off to live the rest of our lives!

The Aftermath Part 1

The first part went well. As expected, none of the suitors came anywhere close to getting the arrow through the ax handles, in fact, most of them couldn't even string the bow. I got my own shot at it! Surprisingly, I did well. I had to restrain myself towards the end because I did not in any way want to take the spotlight away from my father. I am quite pleased, though, with the fact that I strung the bow with ease and that I most likely could have successfully completed the task with little to no difficulty!
The second part may have gotten a bit out of hand. We got Eumaeus and Philoetius to fight with us, for my father promised to treat them as my brothers if they did so. It all started by my father shooting Antinous in the throat with an arrow subsequent to him perfecting the bow and arrow task. Eurymachus tried to plead up to us, claiming that Antinous was the only bad one in the bunch, but my father would have none of it. He said that not spare anyone. At this point, Eurymachus charged at my father, but he was easily shot down with another arrow. Then I killed Amphinomus with my spear. I must go now, but the rest of the events preceding what I just told you will come tommorrow!

The Plan

After discussing many things with my father after his miraculous return, we decided that the only thing determining out fates were the suitors, and that they must be defeated. We constructed a well thought out plan, and if it was followed as such, then the outcome would be more than satisfying! To start, my father would pose as a beggar and own the suitors in the bow and arrow contest. While he distracted them, I would go to the room where we have the armor and weapons and secure them inside of it, making sure that we had enough for us. This would ensure that there was no chance of survival for the suitors.

To start it all off, we are going to hold the suitors in the great room and set up twelve axes, the point of the competition being to shoot the arrows through all the handles using my father's giant bow which is almost impossible to use, let alone string. Afterwards, the battle will begin, my father and I against all the suitors. I'm hoping that afterwards my father and I will once again rule Ithaca with my mother, Penelope. If all goes well, things will finally be the way they are meant to be. If you have any suggestions that could make our plan easier or more efficient, comment!

My Father and I Reunite

Today was magical. I finally returned home to Ithaca, and found my loyal Sheppard Eumaeus. Seeing him took me back to those ten years ago when I was just a child, innocent and naïve. When my father wasn’t there for me, this man was, and reconnected with him brought tears to my eyes. We embraced each other for quite some time, until finally we went off to catch up on the last years of their lives.
A raggedy vagabond was waiting by Eumaeus’ hut, and showing his overwhelming generosity, he gives him plenty of food and shelter. Only later did I discover that the “beggar” was nearly a beggar, but my own father! He was disguised as a beggar as to not be recognized by the envious suitors. We spent hours reconnecting with each other, and then my perfect day ended. Like I said, it was magical!

A Visit from Athena

Growing up was tough for me. All I had was my mother, who was most often depressed due to the absence of my father. I understand why she feels upset; I mean her husband has been gone for ten years, with no word from him at all. She was constantly worrying about him, and sometimes even neglected me while doing so. This has been occurring ever since I was young child, when my father left us. Not only do I hate seeing my mom like this, but I also wish that I didn’t have to deal with all these stupid suitors trying to take my father’s place. There are tons of them just sitting around my house, enslaving my maids and terrorizing my mother. They don’t want to marry her because they are in love with her, but only because they want to be reigned King of Ithaca. They must go!

The goddess Athena came to me today and talked about my father. She seems to think that he is still out there, and that I should set out to find him as soon as possible. I am eager to being my journey for the man that was absent my whole life, yet means so much to me. I will search the oceans high and wide, night and day, only in the hopes that destiny will bring me and my father together yet again some day.
